The Fly Society is a show of young believers talking about faith, relationships, trends, and interviewing the dopest unconventional Christian influencers. From entertainers, to athletes, to entrepreneurs and pastors. Our goal is to ask the questions that no one else is asking, bring biblical truths into the 21st century, and make the bible relevant to our generation. Millennials have always yearned for a show like this but there hasn’t been anything out to fill that void until now.
You can expect us to be based in truth, but don’t expect us to be your bible college. Don’t expect us to go into hermeneutics, escology, apologetic’s, or anything like that because we can, but this isn’t a platform where we intend to dig extremely deep into scripture.
The vision for this show is to change lives with Biblical Truths through entertainment. So our mission is to bring biblical truths to life in the 21st century in a real, raw, and relevant way that we understand. We’re talking to believers who want real answers, believers who are young and have hard questions, believers who are in different stages of their walk and wrestle with different topics. Believers who want truth. Believers who aren’t afraid to touch the touchy subjects.
Not only do we plan to bring hope and the real, our desire is to have people on the show who aren’t the conventional Christians. We’ll interview the successful unconventional Christians. The people who aren’t the pastors or worship leaders but they’re the actors, the athletes, the entertainers, the talk show hosts, the entrepreneurs whos platform goes beyond what we’re used to seeing in our culture.
You can expect to hear us laugh, be silly, ask real questions, give real answers based in truth and be ourselves. We are The Fly Society.
Meet The Cast
Hi my name is Joshua Dillard and I’m the owner and creator of The Fly Society Podcast. I’ve had tremendous opportunities to be featured on some great television networks and publications such as Fox, BET, The Houston Chronicle, Sister 2 Sister Magazine, and voted Top 100 Young Professionals in Houston TX in 2015 by Young Houston Magazine. I’m also a recipient of the Volunteer Service Achievement Award from President Barack Obama.
Though all of this is great! It doesn’t make me who I am, because when it all boils down to who I am, I’m a husband, a father, and lover of Jesus Christ.
So why The Fly Society?
When God gave me the vision for this show it was interesting how it happened because at first this show was going to be called “Empower Talk Live”. It would have only had one host and it would’ve been an interview style show where I would bring on guest who would talk about how their faith influences what they do. So whether that was entrepreneurs, entertainers, actors,, artist, athletes, social celebrities and the occasional pastors I wanted to ask the questions that no one was asking and get the real answers.
The Thing about the show was that it was a great concept but it never really stuck with me. I wrestled with the format, the segments, I didn’t want to be like every other podcast out there doing interviews, and I finally came to the realization that I didn’t like the show. I had to get real with myself.
I had to start over, not from scratch, but did I have to ask myself 2 questions. What am I passionate about, and what are God’s plans for this show. I’m passionate about God, and I believe his plan for this show is for people to grow deeper in their relationship with Him.
After a few weeks, of not stressing myself about it, kind of intentionally waiting for something to hit me, one day it came.
I was listening to this show called the breakfast club and I made a statement to myself, I was like, I wish there was a Christian show like this. And that’s when it hit me, that’s when I said that’s it, that’s what we’re going to do, we’re going to make a show for believers that stands on biblical truths, that’s real, authentic, raw and entertaining, because WE NEED A SHOW for US! The Christians who have complicated questions about relationships, faith, their walk, purpose, and other great subjects that you won’t hear spoke about behind the pulpit 90% of the time.
But what you shouldn’t expect is for us to be judgmental, we’ll be honest with our views but we don’t have a place called heaven or hell that we can put people in. And that’s not our job. You can expect us to be based in truth, but don’t expect us to be a bible college. Don’t expect us to go into hermeneutics, escology, apologetics, or anything like that because we can, but this isn’t the show for that. We’re simply real Christians having real talk.
This show will be empowering, impactful and edifying, and you can’t tear somebody down while building them up at the same time. We have a safe culture here at the fly society. Anyone can come on this show as long it’d edifying, purposeful and impactful. As long as they’re open to having real conversations based in truth.

Hi guys I’m a Motivational Speaker, Youth Advocate, and Hip-Hop artist who is dedicated to the advancement of hope. Sure I’ve had my times because I definitely use to turn up at Texas State but through God’s grace I was able to keep my virginity. I haven’t always been the person I am today. I come form humble beginnings. I’m from Houston and it shaped my passions to inspire others through music. Music was how I escaped my realities, and one of those realities is the fact that my dad is doing 50 years in jail right now.
I know, crazy right…..
Faith and creativity helped me find some sense of security to not blame myself for my circumstances. It wasn’t me. God poured into me. He showed me that I’ll be the father you’ve never had. I’m blessed that he caught me young, and my goal is to not take that for granted. That’s why I’m passionate about helping others break generational curses that still effect people today.
My approach is to package optimistic overtones in music have been deemed as, “fresh, cutting edge, relatable, and innovative” by Grammy award winning producers through my music.
My voice on the show? Well I represent the streets, the people who don’t necessarily have a voice but their speaking loud as ever. I love people. I love talking to and engaging people. I love to engage crowds, and that gift has placed me on platforms that I couldn’t have imagined. From schools, universities, and non-profit organizations, I’ve been able to impact people across the United States.
